What Kind of Fuckery is This!?

| Comments (0) | San Francisco | Tag(s): gavin newsom, olympics
This was the question being asked by everyone along the planned Olympic Torch route by fans and protesters alike.  Where was the torch!?  Nowhere near the original route (see map below) because the route was changed at the very last minute.  Even members of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors didn't know about the route change ahead of time.  There were people that came from all over the Bay Area to see the end of the torch run at Justin Herman Plaza who were denied because the torch never got there.  I was bummed that I couldn't leave work to go see the historic run, but I would have been really pissed if I got to the Embarcadero and there was no torch.  I guess it was a pretty good call not to go.  In all fairness, Newsom warned everyone that this might happen, but it still sucks.  It's interesting to see the national news coverage from CNN, not nearly as much detail as what you get from SFGate on a local event.

Please notice the extra special fuckery of starting at the planned start
of the original route only to almost immediately drive away.  Surprise bitches!

Newsom: Torch Relay Could Change

| Comments (0) | San Francisco | Tag(s): gavin newsom, olympics, protests
After the craziness in Paris and on the bridge, Mayor Gavin Newsom said the planned 6-mile torch route along the central waterfront and around Fisherman's Wharf could change up to and even during the relay.  I guess they are going to try and keep the fans and the protesters guessing as to the route until the very last minute.  I predict chaos and hope to be able to get away from work to see it first hand on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Matier & Ross (see third story in the following link), the Gettys will be hosting a $2,300 per plate fundraiser for Barack Obama in their Pacific Heights mansion this weekend where 400 people are expected to attend.  This makes the event the "hottest ticket in town."  Amazingly, the story claims that Mayor Gavin Newsom will not be attending because he supports Hillary Clinton.

What!?  The Mayor is basically biting the hand that fed him for years and helped make him a multi-millionaire and a political force.  It it wasn't for the Gettys, Gavin would be successful, but he would not be nearly as wealthy as he is now, let alone be Mayor of The City.  I wonder what the Clintons did for Gavin that makes him feel he owes them his loyal support in Hillary's campaign.  It must have been something pretty good.  Oh if only walls could talk.

City Hall Brouhaha

Gavin Newsom in Disbelief All hell has broken loose at City Hall because Chris Daly has accused the mayor of being a hypocrite in cutting the city's substance-abuse treatment programs while the mayor "artfully dodges every question about allegations of his own cocaine use." He went on to say "Where does Gavin Christopher Newsom get his substance abuse services, and how much do they cost the city and county of San Francisco?"

Newsom (pictured here hearing about Chris Daly's allegations for the first time) responded by saying "Absolutely not...this is so gratuitous, so erroneous that it's just patently false." Newsom then sent a letter to Board of Supervisors President Aaron Peskin requesting that the board address Daly's conduct. Meanwhile, Chris Daly refuses to apologize saying he stands solidly behind everything he said.

Other members of the Board of Supervisors have distanced themselves from Daly. Peskin said. "The entire episode is conduct unbecoming an elected official." Many people think that Daly has taken politics to a new low in this city, and it's only going to get worse during an election year.

Newsom Stalker Arrested

| Comments (0) | San Francisco | Tag(s): gavin newsom
Newsom's stalker was arrested in San Ramon a few days ago on suspicion of burglary and for trying to run someone over with his car in San Ramon. It didn't have anything to do with the mayor.

Newsom Stalker Has Dangerous History

| Comments (0) | San Francisco | Tag(s): gavin newsom
Newsom's stalker has a dangerous history of violence and was diagnosed as bipolar. Great! These are exactly the qualities you want in a good stalker. I mean, really!? If he was just an average guy with no mental problems the story wouldn't be nearly as entertaining and fun for everybody.

Mayor Newsom Has a Stalker

Apparently the mayor is being stalked by a guy that takes pictures of his bulge at public events, has touched him wearing purple latex gloves, and--the straw that broke the camel's back--got into his apartment building under false pretenses. Needless to say, the mayor is seeking a restraining order against this psycho.

Newsom Opens Campaign Office

Gavin Newsom opened his campaign office today and vowed that he's "not going away" amidst recent scandal and criticism. I wish our mayor the best of luck in staying away from the booze and hoes.

Newsom to Seek Alcohol Treatment

| Comments (0) | San Francisco | Tag(s): gavin newsom
When it rains it pours. Newsom has now said that he is seeking treatment for alcohol abuse, but said that alcohol had nothing to do with his affair with an ex-aide's wife. How will Gavin complete destroying his promising political career? Stay tuned next week when Gavin admits to having sex with the underage city hall male interns while snorting heroine in his office. Really, can the Newsom campaign get any worse!?

Newsom Affair Revealed

| Comments (0) | San Francisco | Tag(s): gavin newsom
Ruby Rippey-Tourk © Luke Thomas A huge shocker hit the Chronicle this morning. Apparently, Gavin Newsom was sleeping with his Chief of Staff's wife about a year and a half ago, while he was in the middle of divorce proceedings with Kimberly. Alex Tourk, who is now Gavin's campaign manager quit the campaign abrubtly after the affair was brought to light. His wife, Ruby Rippey-Tourk (pictured here), confessed to the affair as part of some substance abuse program (oh, tragic)!

This is about loyalty. The saddest thing in this is that Gavin betrayed a guy that was very close to him, even hanging out with him at times, by sleeping with his wife. I think after the divorce Gavin would have bagged anything that moved, but his friend's wife!? This is a self-destructive side of Gavin that we had not seen before.

There's also rumors about a pregnancy that "went away" and a possible sexual harassment case that may be stemming from this brouhaha (oh, even more tragic)! Damn, the mayor's life is turning into quite the soap opera.

Update: Newsom Apologizes at Press Conference

Newsom's New 'Girlfriend'

| Comments (1) | San Francisco | Tag(s): gavin newsom
Jeniffer_Siebel In a news story today about our mayor going to Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Summit, the paper stated that Jennifer Siebel is the mayor's girlfriend. Damn, that was rather presumptious! I didn't even know that he had broken up with Brittanie Mountz! Apparently, he had shown up at an event with Siebel back in November. Where was the news story then!?

The good news is that Siebel is at least in her thirties and the mayor will be able to make pop culture references that she may actually understand. You know, when the discussion turns to Pac-Man, the Thriller album, Cabbage Patch dolls, and other things from the eighties, she'll actually remember them. You know, she was alive for all of the eighties.

Jennifer is definitely a trade-up. Icing on the cake: her dad is a prominent San Francisco investment manager so she's likely not with Gavin for the payday.

Gavin Newsom May Not Run Again

| Comments (0) | San Francisco | Tag(s): gavin newsom
Gavin Newsom says he's "absolutely not convinced" that he will run for re-election for mayor of San Francisco. He says he's tired of sitting "at bars and restaurants doing homework and getting food to go" and wants more balance in his life. I am sure that also means he'd like to date 20-year-olds without being scrutinized.

Gavin Newsom Robbing the Cradle

Gavin Newsom & Brittanie Mountz at the Westfield Opening Gala Event © Drew Altizer Turns out that Gavin Newsom's new love interest, Brittanie Mountz, is almost half his age, not even old enough to drink, and a registered Republican.

According to the Chronicle, she had changed her MySpace page (which is now private) to say she was 26-years-old shortly after being seen with the mayor, but her voter registration card revealed her real age along with her party affiliation. Now there's a big stink because the 20-year-old girl has been seen around town drinking with our 39-year-old mayor.

In Newsom's defense, Mountz may have lied to him about her age just to get a date with him. After all, he's one of the most eligible bachelors in the country. Either way, party on Gavin!

Mayor to Public: Relax

| Comments (0) | San Francisco | Tag(s): gavin newsom
Mayor Gavin Newsom held a press conference to address Milos and Scientology, stating "Relax. I'm a practicing Irish Catholic. I'm not a Scientologist, and I couldn't tell you two things about it." In his head he was thinking, "Can't you guys see that all I want to do is tap dat ass!" He seemed really calm and collected, so chances are that he already hit that. Nice.

Mayor's Trip to L.A. Scrutinized

| Comments (1) | San Francisco | Tag(s): gavin newsom
San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom flew down to Los Angeles to hang with his new fling, Sofia Milos, and to go to the annual dinner of the Citizens Commission for Human Rights. Sounds innocent enough, right? Well, it turns out that the Citizens Commission for Human Rights was co-founded by the Church of Scientology to expose ethical violations by psychiatrists and to raise questions about the use of psychiatric medicines. In short, Milos has ties to scientology, and that could hurt our good mayor's political career.

I noticed she was at least a scientology sympathizer, if not a scientologist, while looking through her website last week when the story of their relationship broke. Certainly Gavin knows of her ties to the origanization by now and simply doesn't care. I mean look at her, she's so damn fine she could worship wild goats and most guys would ignore it. I am guessing that the mayor is not looking to convert to scientology anytime soon and is just looking to tap dat ass. After all, I am sure that he knows that scientology is a crazy UFO cult.

Newsom Courting Milos

| Comments (2) | San Francisco | Tag(s): gavin newsom
Newsom and Milos Rumors are abound that San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom was spotted in North Beach this weekend cavorting with none other than actress Sophia Milos. Sophia Milos appeared in earlier seasons of the Sopranos as Mafia boss Annalisa Zucca and most recently on CSI: Miami. Kimberly Newsom is a beautiful woman and admittedly the mayor is a good looking guy, but Sophia is so crazy hot that she may be too much for him to handle. Nonetheless, I wish him the best of luck in this pursuit.

Sixteen Hundred and Counting

| Comments (1) | San Francisco | Tag(s): gavin newsom
Since Thursday, over 1,600 same-sex marriages have been performed at San Francisco City Hall. Hundreds more were turned away and told to return tomorrow to continue the wedding extravaganza.

As we moved on Saturday, we noticed a huge surge in traffic all over the city, particularly near the intersections of Fell and Van Ness--this explains it. San Francisco City Hall has become same-sex marriage Mecca and people are coming from far and wide to be married before some sort of legislative or judicial mandate forbids it. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Big ups to all the gay couples that have tied the knot in the past couple of days!
