Economy Still Screwed ::.
People link the recession with 9/11, but the truth is that the economy was heading South before the planes hit. A year later, everyone seems to agree that the events were unrelated even if the attacks made matters worse. Experts are saying that the corporate scandals at Enron and Worldcom will have a bigger impact on the economy than the attacks and I for one agree.

Good God! People and Movies ::.
What is it these days with people and the movies. I went to see One Hour Photo with Robin Williams, which was a good movie. Im sitting there and a man walks in and sits in front of me. He has a pair of head phones on which I assumed was the hearing aids from the theater. No, its headphones with the LSU vs. Miami game on as loud as it could go. As if that were bad enough, his wife had to narrate the whole freaking movie!

Have people lost all consideration for others around them or are they just rude and thoughtless. I tell you, I really wanted to rip the headphones off his head and strangle him with the cord. Hmm.. not such a bad idea!

Notice all my post have been spelled correctly now!!! Thanks to my new spell checking feature added to the blog!!

Pleasantville ::.

Testing Blues ::.
The prospect of taking anther exam on Friday 13th is horrable. As is the day is not unlucky enough already, teachers always feel like they have to give tests and quizes. Although it shouldn't be luck that makes you get the grades, but you must admit that there is some degree there.

My first test today was in Biology, a class I have put off since freshman year. It was a breeze. I think I was out of there in under 5 minutes. I know I got 100%. I wish that all my tests were like that.

Oh well, I have one more test today. World Lit, another class I have put off since freshman year. I feel so old in those class, being 24 really isn' t old but it feels it. My teacher is looking at me so I need to go.

9-11 A Day for Mourning ::.
I still remember it. Exactly one year ago today. Sitting at work waiting for the
day of endless nagging at the hands of my idiot boss (Wayne Prater) to start.
Little did I know the tragedy that was to befall our great nation.

First I heard it from my manager. “World Trace Center One was hit by
a plane. I think it was a Cessna or some other type of small plane.” Instantly
I turned on my radio and started to browse the news webs sites for a hint of
what was happening in New York. As I recall you couldn’t get to a news
related website anywhere in the world. I finally found a site that had streaming
news. The next thing I remember was seeing the second plane hit and then the
feeling that I wasn’t safe anymore.


This is a feeling that has stuck with me since that day. I know as an American
that in my own country I have little to fear. We are protected by the best of
everything in the world. We have the greatest military force, best fire fighters,
and the best police. Still I feel unsafe, unsettled. The horrifying realization
on that day, September 11th, has left the world unsettled.


I still to this day cannot begin to comprehend what Bin Laden and his followers
believe and why they committed this horrible act of aggression on all of humanity.
I am sure that we will never know the real reason for it is clouded in a haze
of religious and cultural differences and deep hatred of Americans.


Where did it begin, when will it end? I am sure that it will not end when we
rid the earth of Al-Qaeda. There will always be another fanatic to step up and
spread the hate. Because of this I am sure that no one will feel safe for along
time.


After this year may we not forget all who have died on September 11, 2001 and
those who made the ultimate sacrifice trying to save the fallen. They are all
heroes.

Another Long Weekend ::.
Another weekend and another wedding. A birthday also. Abigail's birthday was on Saturday the 7th. Ended up going drinking every night she was in town. I have found this new bar in Downtown Baton Rouge called Avoyelles on the River. Great place to go sit and drink good beer and listen to good music. The atmosphere is great when you can get them to dim the lights. The music is not too loud where you have to yell to be heard either.

On to the wedding. Burgundy Ballard has married Paul Cummings on Saturday. The ended up getting married at the Broadmoor Methodist Church in Baton Rouge. The reception was at Sherwood Country Club. It was a nice wedding and reception. I do have pictures from Abigail birthday and from the wedding that I will be posting shortly. I also have more pics of Harlan and Rita's wedding to post.

I will write more later about Harlan and Rita's Honeymoon experience in Tropical Storm Whatever that hit Galveston Texas.

Misirable Day ::.
Today has so far been a virtual disaster. I was up at 5:30 , went to bed shortly before that, and have been at school ever since. I am in some freshman level classes that I have been putting off until now. I don't know why I did that but oh well. The only good thing about them is that they are easy.

Abigail's birthday is tomarrow and there is a tropical storm in the gulf that is supposed to hit this weekend. So, I ask you, IS it ever going to end?? This is just the icing on the cake when you talk about special days and tropical storms and hurricaines. Every freakin time there is a birthday or holiday there is a damn storm to ruin it. Hopefully she will have a good birthday. I will try my best to ensure that. Anyway, Enough with this rambling, its just too early to be posting.

Racial Racists and Bickering Groups ::.
As I was sitting in my underwear flipping channels I was once again reminded of the racial debate still haunting our country. This constant bickering about slave reparations, police brutality, affirmative action, and welfare is really getting to be ridicules.

The Advocate had an article about a lawsuit filed in New Orleans Federal District Court claiming that several large businesses aided and benefited from slavery. The amount of the lawsuit is undisclosed. We are constantly being bombarded by these frivolous lawsuits filed by lawyers who are trying to get some free publicity.

Hopefully over the next few years these racist political groups, back and white, will possibably begin to see eye to eye. These groups all have the same views, the only difference being the racial group they are directed toward. Louis Farrakhan and David Duke share a common view, just directed to different races. They both want a racially monotone nation and the eradication of their enemy races. You know if both these guys would just work as hard as they do at hating on something else maybe we could actually get something done in this country.

Anyway, I am really too tired to elaborate too much. Good night to you all.

This toy was #1 on my daughter's Christmas list. So what the heck, although it has no educational value I figured it would be good for imaginative play. It wasn't until after she opened her gift and started playing with it that I realized that the toy may offer a more than sensational experience. The broomstick has cute sound effects and ***VIBRATES*** when they put it between their legs to fly. Come on---what were the creators of this toy thinking? She'll keep playing with the Nimbus 2000, but with the batteries removed.

When my 12 year old daughter asked for this for her birthday, I kind of wondered if she was too old for it, but she seems to LOVE it. Her friends love it too! They play for hours in her bedroom with this great toy. They really seem to like the special effects it offers (the sound effects and vibrating). My oldest daughter (17) really likes it too! I recommend this for all children.

Well, the wedding is over and everone has gone their seperate ways. Harlan to the Caribbean, George to New Orleans, Ray to Dallas, Ryan to Chicago, and Roger to Tampa. It was fun while it lasted. Pics are online in SlideShow or Regular. I will post more later.

Batchelor PARTY!!! ::.
Tonight is the big night for the batchelor party for Harlan. I will probably be posting some pics to my online album next week. The only thing that will be bad is that Sothern Decidence is this weekend in New Orleans. I am thinking that we will have to go uptown to get drunk and go to stip clubs on the West Bank. That is where all the really trashy clubs are in N.O.

It will be good to get all the Guys together again. This is also the same night as our anual Delta Sigma Phi Batchelor party that we would throw the night befor the bid day celebration at LSU. Its going to be a long night. If you are going to be in New Orleans keep an eye out for us!!

Another Day in the life of ::.
During the course of the day I have been mad, glad, in pain, and tired. My day started this morning around 6 a.m. after a short night of sleep (3 hours total). I got out of bed stepped into the shower where on the way I stubbed my pinky tow on the door. I swear I thought that I was going to die right there. I was praying Jesus to take me away.

After getting dresses I was off to school. On the way I got the skires and had to stop at Burger King for an emergency pit stop. As I arrived in the bathroom there was a young guy in their cleaning. I ran for the stall that he had finished cleaning. As I checked the stall for TP I realized that I might have to switch playing fields. I ran to another stall, checked it, and came up empty again. I ran to the next and last stall. By this time I was about to burst, letting out a tsunami of shit on the floor of the BK bathroom. I reached for the dispenser and found there was just enough for one wipe.

Don't you just hate life when this happens? Well, I just went ahead and took my shit, used what little toilet paper I had found in the last stall, and went on my merry way cursing the BK bathroom attendant. Next after a few hours at school I began to notice that I was dosing off. This was soon cured fro the teacher slapping the desk of the person next to me who was doing the same thing. I'm not sure but I don’t think that this teacher realized that this is COLLEGE not elementary school.

My next class began when some old stinky lady with some retarded kid strapped to her back walked in and decided to sit right next to me. She had the audacity to ask me to move so the retard could sit by her. I politely let her know that there were no seats left and that it is quite hard to write standing up for an hour. I also let her know that she would have better luck asking someone who wasn’t made physically ill by the appearance of this retard on her back. I know this sounds mean but if you saw this you would have been made ill as well.

Anyway, with all this happening I am still ticking. Still going strong. This was another day in the life of Chris Peneguy.

Cell Phone Dellima ::.
Today as like most days I was sitting in class and some stupid jack ass has their cell phone on. I dont really think that it is the fact that she has the cell phone that really bothers me, I think that it is the fact that the damn think plays Louie louie every thirty freaking seconds. I wanted to kill the chick.

Another annoyance is all of the people who actually answer their phone in class and talk while others are trying to listen and learn. Sooner or later some teacher is going to have enough and fail them all!!

First Day ::.
Today is my first day of my fall 2003 semester. It is good to be back in school again but I must admit I hate to be around all the freshman. I swear if someone asks me one more time where such and such hall is I will rip there liitle hello kitty back pack off and jump on it until they stop screaming for their daddy. Sooner or later I am going to break.

Anyway, I am in one of my programming classes and will write again soon. I will post some pics from the party the other night an then elaborate more on Harlans Batchelor party.
