Incredible! Even after Paypal identified the scam and reversed the fraudulent payment from the unsuspecting Thomas Weir, "Brenda" submitted another payment for my camera! This time she used an account from the UK for a guy named Jon Donaldson. Knowing now that it's all a scam, I refunded the payment in full. Still, the balls on "Brenda" are huge!
This poor guy Jon Donaldson probably has no idea that his account is being plundered by "Brenda" as we speak! All of these Paypal accounts that she has must have had their passwords lifted by a Trojan or through phishing emails. Sad. "Brenda" is still emailing me trying to find out if I will mail out the camera.

Clearly the emails that I received at the end of the auction were pre-scripted because they were in perfect English. This email is in broken English and references a client that she didn't mention before. The initial story she gave me was that she was on vacation with her boyfriend. This email has the sound of desperation in between the lines. You can tell this bitch is concerned that the item hasn't shipped. Still, I find it odd that she would send me another payment if she knew she was caught. Crazy.

To whom would you report this to? The Indonesian law enforcement? How do we get these guys to stop? *sigh*
Well, I told Paypal, but I am not sure that will do anything. Paypal is looking out for its own interests and will freeze accounts so that its customers don't get ripped off. But I doubt that they will report this to any authorities.
Even if they did. Let's say they notify the FBI or the U.S. Marshalls or something. By the time the federal government contacts the Indonesian authorities these bitches will be long gone. They are probably staying in some tenement in Jakarta and move frequently.
If this was something that was really high risk for these guys I doubt they would even be doing it. Frankly, they may think of themselves as untouchable. And they are so far away that it may not be too far from the truth.
And I'm Indonesian...(sigh). I have no idea why they would do such a thing...I'm so sorry that you almost got scammed! Like seriously, this isn't an uncommon thing in Indonesia. My dad's account has been broken into many many times, it's not even funny.
But anyway, not all Indonesians are like that...=/...so I hope you're cool with me Fabian! Hahaha...=P.
Oh one more thing, Indonesian law enforcement are as bad as those scammers! Heck, they might even be the mastermind behind this scamming in the first place. So, just be careful the next time you're ebay-ing! =)
