Stormy New Year

Two storms have hit us and one more is on the way. It rained most of the day yesterday and rained continuously from yesterday evening to this morning. A few times it rained so hard that it felt like our skylights were going to break from the force of the rain. At around midnight, a loud howling whistle noise came from the bathroom. It was the storm's 60MPH wind coming in through the open vent in the skylight, I closed it. There are flood, hail, and surf warnings all over the Bay Area. All in all, it's not a pretty day to be outside, but New Year revelers will be out in force as always. It's a nice time to stay at home by the fire, read a book, and relax--that's exactly what we're doing.
