In this episode, teams made their way from Jodhpur, India to Istanbul, Turkey. Uchenna & Joyce started the leg in first place since they completed the Fast Forward and started at 11:24PM, but Rob & Amber and Ron & Kelly started the race at 11:26PM! Through clever editing they made it seem that Uchenna & Joyce were well ahead of the other teams in the last leg, but it turns out that they only had a two-minute lead over the others. They almost didn?t even get first place even with the Fast Forward!

Uchenna & Joyce and Meredith & Gretchen managed to get an earlier flight to Istanbul through Dubai, while Rob & Amber and Ron & Kelly took the direct flight arriving two hours after the others. This was a very big gamble which paid off big! Rob & Amber thought that they were in first place until they asked a ferry driver if they had seen other teams. The driver confirmed that there were two other teams about two hours ahead of them?they were bummed. They were ahead of Ron & Kelly by only minutes and they realized that they were fighting not for the lead, but to not be in last place.

Meredith & Gretchen wasted what seemed like an hour looking for the clue for the Detour. Then later it looked like Gretchen would take too long at the Roadblock. Ultimately though, Uchenna & Joyce and Meredith & Gretchen finished first and second. Rob & Amber came in third place. Ron & Kelly came in last place in this non-elimination leg and lost all of their possessions for the rest of the race. Luckily for them, they won a prize of $20,000 to spend on Travelocity and a stay in a five-star hotel during the Pitstop.

Let’s see if they fare as well as Meredith & Gretchen without their stuff. I doubt the other teams will help them at all since there are only four teams left! There’s probably going to be one more non-elimination leg before the last three teams race into the finish line in the last double-episode.

Roadblock: Is climbing your forte? One team member must climb a 25 foot rope ladder and then climb stairs to the top of a fortress for a key. Once the key is obtained, the team member must rappel back down a wall to get the next clue.
Detour: Columns or Kilos. In Columns, teams needed to find four columns using coordinates in an ancient well. They then needed to use numbers from the columns to open a lock and unlock their next clue. In Kilos, teams needed to weigh people on the street until they?ve weighed people totaling 2500 kilos.
