Fake Live Strong Bands

i need live strong!!!

Live Strong yellow rubberbands are FAR from fashionable. Please don't ever use those terms toghether again.

i have a livestrong band and i love it but really gets to me when people rip them off and sell FAKE ones because no money goes to charity!!! also people who think ther're wristbands are real!!!

you can tell when they are fake because they can strech more than the real ones can strech. thats how you can tell from the fake ones!!! everybody hates it when people rip them off with live strong bands thats just mean

my friend bought a fake band and it cost her more than it does to get a real band it was 2.50 i think that is awful

there are two ways 2 tell FAKE ones 2 real ones the strong from liveSTRONG in not in capitals and they dont bare the nike logo. Also with stand-up speak-up they say made in CHINA insted of made in TAIWAN

Please help i have just purchased 4 bands which are supposed to be charity bands however i,m not convinced 1 of them is supposed to be a breast cancer band it has the ribbon sign but says hope faith, courage and stregnth as does the one that is supposed to be Tsunami none of these 2 where in a bag, i also bought 2 black and white double bands meant to support racism they came in bags and say stand up and speak also with made in china on bag but not on bands are these fake? and is there a way of getting back your money this has happened twice to me only this time i purchased them on line please help i dont want to line the pockets of cheats.

i have a livestrong band and a stand up speak up band and n england band also a beat bulling band and a breast cancer band but i dont now if my beat bulling band is fake is does strech alot and does say the web site on da bac and my live strong band does not have nike sign but on da packet it does and i no my black n white 1 is real it has the nike sign on it but i bought a black n white 1 and it was really fake it did not have nikesign on it so i boygth a real one and now i am popular with loads of the bands.............. help plz help i wanna no if my beat bulling ban is fk

i've got pretty close to all these bands so here are some points u can look to distinguish fake and real from my experience

LIVESTRONG - plastic bag for real one has one tiny hole on it also on StandupSpeakup. The fake one can stretch further since it used lower quality rubber instead of silicone

STANDUPSPEAKUP - like i said the bag has tiny hole. also the real one, both outter and inner band surface are not shiny as livestrong, basically inner surface and outer surface has the same texture, on the fake one inner surface is shiny.

Beat Bully - fake one looks so real that all the details are exactly the same. but here are one spot that i found so take a look at "a" on the on the "radio1" the real one has "a" letter as the font verdana but fake one has "a" letter as the font Century Gothic. go type it and u'll see the different

p.s. i've got all those things both fake and real that's why i can give u some points. if u wanna get'em i can sell you for cheap. lol :P

2-If it has a nike swish...fake
3-If it has a made in taiwan mark...fake
4-If you break it putting it on for the first time...fake

REAL
1-If it won't shoot like a rubberband...real
2-If it is yellow...real
3-If the liveSTRONG is one word...real
4-If the "strong" in liveSTRONG is slightly bigger than the "live"...real
5-If it says, "MADE IN CHINA"...real
6-If you get it from www.wearyellow.com ...real
7-If you get it from "The Great Divide" in pueblo,co...real

I got my first livestrong band in June 2004 and just got a new one yesterday (5-5-05) because I was WORRIED the old one would break. It was still in good condition more than 11 months later!!!

I put this thing through hell to...I showered with it, slept with it, camped with it, and even chewed on it when I couldn't get my daily fix of chocolate.

My point is, if it is real it will last!

i check the Lance Armstrong offical website that sells this, and the LIVESTRONG is all in capital, but the word 'STRONG' is in bold.

wtf is up with all these people wanting free hand-outs? that is sad and pathetic. You should buy the livestrong bands & other awareness wristbands for the importance of the organization selling them, not just so you can have a rubber band around your wrist. Those of you that are asking for free hand-outs need to think twice because pretty soon the bands won't even be "trendy" anymore, then what are you gonna do? I don't even want to know.

I think fakes are horrible the only time they can be useful is when you desperately want one.

I bought a LIVESTRONG band from a cycling store and it doesn't stretch that much and has the skinny live in capitals and the bold strong in capitals. It is yellow but my friends say it is fake cuz it's made in china. Their livetrong bands are a slightly different yellow it's a bit lighter and are made in tiawan.

who's is real? and does it really matter as long as the money is going to the livestrong charity?

i bought my livestron wristband in a nike store and it says that the liveStrong wristband is made in taiwan and so...LIVESTRONG wristband made in taiwan are real 'couse i've bought my one in a nike store and all the signs that we can do an analises that is perfectly real...probably it means that the production on china is so little and then they need to do more wristband and the location choice was taiwan!!! so,LIVESTRONG wristbands made in taiwan are real too!

I have 1 liveSTRONG and it says MADE IN TAIWAN, i'm sure it's real 'cos a friend bought me the last month in a NIKE TOWN of NY, so it's real!

the real live strong bands have made in china on the back. i bought it from the discovery store and the package has lances logo on it. the real bands cost $1.00 all the others are fake!!!

Saying a band can be identified as a fake by pliability alone is somewhat true, but only with cheaply manufactured bands. We are a create custom bands for our customers using our factory in china (not the LIVESTRONG bands). Our bands are the same quality in terms of material, pliability, texture and size. Though we do not make counterfeit bands, you would not be able to tell the difference if we did.

The best was to know you buying authentic gear, is to purchase ONLY from the locations listed in the copied FAQ. Anybody seling them for more than a buck is most likely fake, but not always. We know of people that bought them in bulk from legitimate sources and have just marked them up to make a profit.

To address some of the other comments, check the offical website for organizations supporting people afflicted with the condition of interest. If they do not offer wristbands from their site, there most likely is no "official" wristband for the cause.
