I finally broke down and put some ads on the site to try and recoup some of the hosting costs. Chances are that I’ll only make $2 or $3 a month from the ads, but it’s better than nothing. Sad thing is that Google doesn’t mail you a check until you’ve amassed more than $100 in your account. I have a feeling that’s gonna take a real long time.

  1. So does that mean we have to contribute by clicking through the ads to help you out?

  2. Yeah, Google pays you based on clickthroughs. If people actually clickthrough, they can pay pretty well.

  3. Please only click on the ads that you are interested in. Google checks patterns and IP addresses to try and remove fraudulent clicks. If any site gets too many of those they kick them off. I don’t want to get the boot.

  6. I thought this web hosting was free. What happened to that?

  7. The web hosting is free right now. But I pay $10 per month for a high-end web traffic analyzer. Additionally, I have paid for a lot of software associated with the Blog, including Movable Type, Zonkboard, and other utilities. In short, being big pimpin’ requires spending cheese.
