My apologies to those who read this "farce" ... There is NO snake on this planet (alive or dead) that has topped 30 feet (yet). Some organizations have a $50 000 USD reward for any person to produce hard proof of an animal above 30 feet. That reward has stood out (and still available) since the 1930's...Honestly ! Do you think that this guy (from a 3rd world country) would pass up the reward ? Get real ! The "thickest" snake in the world is the Anaconda from south america...The longest animal is indeed the retic python...But certainly NOT 49 feet and way off the mark of 900 + pounds ! (which is over 3 times the weight of the current heaviest snake).

So, as usual, dont believe what you read, especially from these locations...The animal in the picture is, at best 23-26 feet (which is extremely rare i agree)...

Actually the world record snake was like 32 & 1/2 feet in length. A retic.

I have to say that that is one of the bigest retics I have ever seen but Omegas right that snake is rare but no larger than 30 FT. Smity pull your head out of your ass and look at the materials used to build the inclosure and compare it to the animal the guy probaly cant even count.

yea, it turns out this story was fake. the snake turned out to be 28 ft long. the person who started it all simply said "somehow the snake mustve shrunk"... beautiful retic i might add though.

For all the closed minded people that don't think snakes can reach over 35 ft and over 900pds. Put your dumb asses on a plane and fly to these countrys and use your bodys as bait. So me and the rest of us who know snakes can get this size and bigger can pay to watch you dumb asses get eaten..

Wow, its ridiculous how worked up you people get. I claim ignorance, i have no clue how big the snake is, but regardless, it should be considered with awe. That is a huge an powerful creature. and for those of you telling people to pull their heads out of their asses, read some encyclopedias, and maybe two things will happen, you will know whether or not they are right, and you might be able to come up with better insults. all you are doing is displaying how ignorant and redneck you are. as for "GOD", get a life. Oh, and btw, at least according to the Dallas Aquarium, the largest anaconda is 33 ft in length. So you bums, stop proclaiming your ignorance for the world to revel in, and get a life.

First off i will like to start off by saying dont be an idiot all your lives and who ever by god is your really wierd i have been dealing with snakes for about 15+ years and for one i will agree with abby on you never no how big these snakes will get, and it is true that we ahve probably lost some of the biggest ones the world could have seen from people in fear of the animal, so only time will tell we might get to see one that 35 ft plus so dont be surprised, im working on one my self to tell you the truth

i know a pretty good amount about snakes and retics r supposed to be skinny in body size compared to other large snakes
i can tell you that this snake tops 30 feet for the simple fact thats its bigger around than a grown man and retics at 20ft are usualy about as big around as a soccer ball
